Our Heritage
For over a century, our family recipe has been a treasured secret passed down through generations. Born in the sugar cane fields of Puerto Rico in the early 1900s, our ancestors discovered the art of transforming pure cane sugar into liquid gold.
After long days laboring under the Caribbean sun, our family would gather to enjoy their handcrafted rum - a moment of beauty and relaxation that connected them to the land and to each other. This tradition of finding joy in life's simple pleasures remains the heart of everything we do.
Our Founder
Dierick Rodriguez embodies the American dream with Puerto Rican soul. Arriving in the United States in 2000, with nothing but determination and a vision, he built his life from the ground up without knowing the language or having connections.
During the pandemic, destiny revealed itself when Dierick discovered a weathered piece of paper containing his family's century-old rum recipe. This moment ignited his passion to honor his heritage and share the authentic taste of Puerto Rico with the world through La Destileria.
Our Craft
Every drop of La Destileria rum is triple-distilled in our traditional copper pot still, maintaining the artisanal methods our ancestors perfected. Dierick Rodriguez personally oversees every batch, every flavor, and every bottle - ensuring each one meets our family's exacting standards.
Using only pure cane sugar and natural ingredients, we create four distinct expressions that honor our heritage while satisfying modern palates:
